SEW was awarded the Gold Medal by Government of Maharashtra in January 2008 for completing Sulwade Barrage with Hydro Mechanical works in record time.

 

Sulwade Barrage is constructed across river Tapi with 22 vertical lift type gates of size 15M x 11.3M near village Sulwade to impound 65.06M Cum gross storage which will irrigate 7560 hectares of land through lift irrigation on either banks of the river Tapi. This project is also constructed to supply 4.38M Cum of water to Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) growth centre and 24.08M Cum of water to Dhule Municipal Council for drinking purpose.

The total length of barrage is 4620m which consists of left side earthern embankment of length 2524m, right side earthern embankment of length 1615m and gated barrage with guide walls of length 481m.
