The 400MW Maheshwar Hydro Power Project is being developed at Mandaleshwar, West Nimar Dist, 108km south west of Indore, MP. The project is named as 'run-of-the-river' which means power is generated using the natural flow of Narmada River and without diverting the course of the river.Being a 'run-of-the-river' project, it will not cause environmental pollution and involves minimal submergence. The Maheshwar power project will produce invaluable peaking power for the western grid of the country.

With a larger vision for developed India, SEW Infrastructure Ltd has diversified its activities into EPC contracts for Hydel Power Projects. SEW is the contractor for complete civil works which includes building a Dam across river Narmada. There are about 2000 SEW employees working in the Maheshwar Project.
