This multi-purpose, inter state project was executed for the three neighbouring states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. The 67 meter high dam across the river Sone is part of this project. The project supplies water for irrigation and power to the three states. Hydel Power is generated at several places on the canals apart from the dam site.
